Romans 11:33.. "Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!"

Here's a question for you: when was the last time that you were awestruck by God? Seriously, think about it. When was the last time that you were so amazed of the Lord's beauty that you did not know what to do with yourself? Ten minutes ago? Yesterday? Last week? Last month? Last year? ...Never?

When contemplating all of the richness of the truth of God, Paul was awestruck. In Romans 11:33-36, we see Paul's conclusion to his explanation of Christian doctrine. For the last eleven chapters, he has been explaining the doctrines of God's gospel and all that it contains. How does he conclude this section of the book? By being awestuck. After considering the great love, kindness, judgement, wrath, mercy, grace, and wonder of God, Paul does not know what to do with himself. He is out of breath, he is without any thought other than the thoughts of his Savior, he is broken, he is awestruck.

When is the last time this happened to you? When is the last time that you were so amazed about a truth of God that the only thing that you could do is shout the Lord's praise? If its been a while, I encourage you to reposition yourself. Whether that looks like reading your Bible more, going to church more, or simply meditating on the truths of God more, we ought to daily be awestruck by God. In fact, I would call it a Christian duty to daily, if not hourly, if not constantly, search the ways of God through his Word and his world that we might be awestruck by him.

However, maybe many of you are in the right position. Maybe many of you go to church and read your Bibles, but maybe you need different lenses. Maybe you need to stop looking through the lenses of your sin and shame and start embracing the mercy of Christ. Remember, Christ has set you free, and to neglect that trust and wallow in your shame is pride. So, reposition yourself. And if you have yourself in the right position, then get some new glasses on and open your eyes to the beauty of Christ.

So, are you seeing? Because if you're seeing, you'll be awestruck. If you aren't awestruck, it means you're not seeing. So change your position, and/or change your prescription. Move the mountain out of your way, and/or open up your eyes. See the beauty of God, keep looking and looking and looking, and I will promise that if you do, "the things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace."

Go, and get awestruck.
