Last week was both busy and exciting with the start of intramural futsal (fancy indoor soccer). My 6-person team had games on both Tuesday and Thursday night, and it surely showed me one thing: I'm out of shape! I've been running consistently in college, but playing the sport of soccer is a whole different ballgame [pun intended]. I totally forgot how much energy the game of soccer took. After the first game, I was beat! Luckily, the second game wasn't as bad. We have another game on Tuesday, and then finals on Thursday. I'm excited! It was a great way to bond with friends and have fun at the same time, and it wasn't too much of a time commitment.

Other than wearing myself out running around the gym floor with a bunch of guys who are way more skilled at soccer than I, I didn't have too many great experiences last week. I had lunch with my new worship leader at church, attended two marvelous Southern Baptist Theological Seminary chapels (I haven't missed one yet!), spent time with friends, and enjoyed my classes. Oh! I also went to a museum. One of my professors said that he'd give us extra credit if we went to a museum and took a picture next to a statue of the prodigal son that they had on display (see picture below). The sculpture is meant to portray the joy that the father in the parable of the prodigal son had when his son came back home. It is truly a great sculpture that gives a wonderful portrayal of the great biblical story.

It was truly a fun week! However, it was very busy (as can be seen in the lack of devotionals the past two days--sorry!). If y'all could please pray for academic and physical strength amidst the business, as well as the following requests:

  • Satisfaction in God and God alone.

  • Opportunities to share the Gospel at my new job.

  • That I might be a faithful member of my church here in Louisville, even though its not Calvary. It's difficult pouring into a new church, but it is where God has me right now. Be praying I'd be content in this, and serve Christ's Church wherever I may be. Amen.

Thank you all for reading my weekly updates and praying for me! Y'all are a great encouragement to me (Although, I do have to say, the views on the daily devo's have been declining. Keep reading, my friends! God's Word is powerful!). Let me know how I can be praying for you as well. Talk to y'all again next week!
