Weekly Update: Mom! Dad! I'm in Grad School!

Yep! The title is true. As of Tuesday, I partook in my first graduate-level class. The degree program that I'm in is called the "seminary track" and it allows me to be enrolled both in seminary and undergraduate school at the same time, enabling me to obtain both my Masters of Divinity and Bachelors of Biblical and Theologial studies in five years. It's a crazy program, and I got a glimpse this Tuesday of how hard it is going to be (seminary classes are definitely more difficult that undergraduate classes). Nevertheless, the Lord will be with me through it all, and will lead me through.

Other than starting grad school, I had a few fun experiences this week. I got to introduce some of my Louisville-friends to this place called Culver's as well as watch Tom Brady win another stinkin' Super Bowl (side note: he has six super bowl rings now, and he's married, meaning that he only has three fully-usable fingers because the rest always have rings on them. That sounds awfully uncomfortable; I'm glad I'm not him...). I also greatly enjoyed all of my classes and have delighted in how the Lord has taught me many things even in the short few weeks I have been here, both inside and outside of the classroom. Praise the Lord!

Prayer Praises..

  • Less Stress. The Lord has surely delivered me (see most recent devotional) from much stress in the past week. Although I had much to do, he is a great God who is willing to help us carry the things that are hard to bear.

  • Starfish. I got together with the young man I am mentoring here from my church yesterday. He is such an answer to prayer, as I can use all of what I am learning in college to teach him and help him conform to the image of Christ.

  • Continued Sanctification. The Lord is constantly purging us of our sin and teaching us lessons--amen!

Prayer Requests..

  • That I might continue to humble myself, casting all of my anxieties on the Lord because he cares for me 1 Peter 5:6-7). AMEN!

I surely hope you are all doing well as well. I haven't missed home too much yet, but I'm sure it will kick in soon. Continuing to watch Calvary's livestream every Saturday has helped greatly--praise the Lord for modern technology. Praying for you all, and I wish you a great week. I'll update you again on Monday, but feel free to email, text, or call me in between! I'd be happy to have a warm word from home! :)

Peace be with you,
